About Myself

Sabine Sommerhalder

“Even the stones placed in one’s path can be made into something beautiful” – Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Relatively early in my naturopathic studies I developed a deep appreciation for classical homoeopathy. I have witnessed, firstly for myself, and later through my own children and countless patients, how it can cure diverse symptoms of ill health in a gentle and permanent way. Through the teachings of homoeopathy I have also found the golden thread that links the outer with the inner, the body with the psyche and the spirit; an interplay that has always fascinated me.

Thinking holistically and navigating through my own life in a meaningful way has become an important personal philosophy for me since, unexpectedly and tragically losing my sister in my early twenties. Buried underneath the tremendous sadness of this experience I have found an inner fire and determination to find an approach to life that is meaningful to my spirit. I have started opening myself up to opportunities for higher learning, and when I was given an opportunity to spend three months in Australia I gratefully accepted. The three months turned into more than twenty years. In that time I developed a great interest for holistic healing methods and discovered Naturopathy. I started to deepen my understanding about illness, health and the individual journey of personal growth and development. I began to understand the tremendous importance of the vital force, and thus, that healing may need to be centred not only on the removal of physical symptoms, but to restore the vital force. My sincere gratitude goes out to all my past and present teachers and mentors that have shared their immense knowledge and skills with me, and who continue to encourage me to look deeper.

During my educational years I have received several high distinctions in my chosen field, namely the Bioresearch Award for “Best Performance in Homoeopathic Clinical Practice”, the Warren Brauer Memorial Award for “Excellence in Homoeopathy” and the Bullivants Award for “Best Written Dissertation”.

With great interest and enthusiasm I regularly partake in international seminars and courses that support my professional and personal growth. My special areas of interest are based on the teachings of the “Sensation Method”, a relatively new and holistic method that is founded upon the core principles of classical homoeopathy but expand and deepen its application immensly.

In addition to my clinical practice I have, over the years, also been writing for various community groups and newspapers. My latest contribution was to the German edition of WISH (World Institute of Sensation Homoeopathy), a worldwide, not for profit collaboration of homeopaths who practise the Sensation method.

In Summer 2018, after several years of increasing levels of homesickness I have returned to Switzerland, bringing with me my Australian partner and our two children.
